John is a registered and endorsed clinical psychologist, who has worked in both private practice and public health settings. He brings with him a wealth of experience from a career in the Australian Defence Force spanning over 16 years which has included several overseas deployments. In addition to those experiences, John is also a qualified and accomplished Mental Health First Aid instructor who enjoys facilitating group training.
John is a highly driven and enthusiastic clinician, who enjoys working collaboratively with his clients from a strength-based approach to achieve their therapeutic goals. He employs numerous evidence-based therapies and interventions drawn from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy, and Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy.
An area of special interest for John is working with Trauma (both single event and chronic) and dissociative disorders.
